This great role provides you the opportunity to manage and run the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane business. The role is reporting into the Group CEO.
The General Manager will assure the delivery of overall business outcomes through effective leadership and management of the Company, aligning with vision and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Environment Management:
- Ensure systems are in place to protect employee wellbeing and meet statutory obligations, in collaboration with the Group SQE Manager.
- Lead continuous improvement in safety, environment, and customer (including quality) management programs.
- Engage in tender strategies and customer development with key client companies.
- Actively support business development initiatives.
- Develop and execute the annual budget with the Group CFO.
- Monitor revenue, gross margin, overhead, and cash key performance metrics.
- Strive to exceed all budget targets.
- Implement effective risk mitigation strategies, including regulatory compliance and strong contract administration practices.
- Address operational problems and workflow impediments in conjunction with functional leaders.
- Provide strong leadership to direct reports, including coaching and driving major change initiatives.
- Foster a culture of values, respect, teamwork, excellence, ethics, and accountability.
- Develop a high-performance leadership team to meet aggressive growth and profit objectives.
- Performance Reporting:
- Regularly report business progress to the Group CEO and Board.
- Collaborate across Group and Shared Services for optimal Group outcomes.
Essential:
- Your Management background will be from Telecommunications, Engineering, Project Management or Civil
- Previous experience as a General Manager with financial and people management skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or proven management history.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction, operations, or project management on commercial/industrial projects with significant electrical/mechanical engineering and contract management involvement, including project risk management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing and leading people.
