About the role
Reporting the Superintendent - Discovery and Resource Definition, the purpose of this role is to work within the site Discovery team to generate targets and design, implement, and manage appropriate exploration programs to test for economic gold or copper-gold mineralisation.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the management of exploration programs - both near-mine and remote - to ensure safe and timely delivery of program objectives.
- Logging of diamond drill core, AC,RC or percussion chips, including sample selection and QAQC planning and evaluation.
- Developing and maintaining geological interpretations for project areas including modelling in 2D and 3D.
- Tracking progress of, and delivering reports on exploration programs as they are implemented and providing clear and concise recommendations for next steps.
- Completing all statutory reporting requirements in a timely manner.
- Assisting in safe delivery of programs through hazard identification, risk assessment and being a visible, in-field safety presence.
- Proactively managing exploration activities to best environmental practice to preserve the unique environment within and surrounding Lake Cowal.
- Demonstrating behaviors aligned with the Evolution Mining values.

About you
To be considered, you must have a tertiary degree in Earth Science or Geology, a valid Australian driver's licence, and relevant work experience. Experience managing diamond, reverse circulation, and/or aircore drilling programs is a must. The ability to interpret a variety of data types (geophysical, geochemical, structural, etc..) is essential to the role. In addition to your technical expertise, a good communication skill set, especially the ability to interact with landholders, is essential to succeed in this role as a field-based geologist. It is preferred that you are familiar with NSW regulatory frameworks. In addition to demonstrating stakeholder engagement abilities, you must also be able to prioritise and arrange your work, maintain seamless operations, and develop relationships within the mining community. Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite, GIS and 3D modelling software will be an advantage.
