Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine has a forecasted 10+ year mine life producing over 200,000 Au Ozs for the first five years of production. Construction of the mill has recently been completed, with first gold pour completed in CY Q4 2023. 

 Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks the project in advance of underground production. The operation is an industry stand out with strong financial and ESG metrics underpinned by the exceptional grade of the project.

The Bellevue Gold Project is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines.

Working on a FIFO roster, the Geology Manager is responsible for the geological operations at the Bellevue Mine and the immediate exploration holding. A site-based position, the role will be responsible for the de-risking and optimising the mine plan, delivery of geological information and growth at the Bellevue Mine. The role will involve management of underground drill contractors and geophysics programs, management of the site based mine and resource geologists, field technicians and the Perth based Database/GIS Geologist and Senior Resource geologist. The role forms an integral part of Site Leadership Team and actively engages with the BGL Executive team. 

Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead and mentor geologists and field technicians ensuring training and development of staff to meet future development needs
  • Provide supervision and safety leadership to the geology team (geologists, field assistants, consultants and contractors) at the Bellevue Gold Operation. 
  • Management and supervision of underground drill contractor executing drill programs at the Bellevue Gold Operations.
  • Management of the analytical contractor, ensuring QAQC processes are being adhered too.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the safety management plan (with regards to geology based systems and standards) and compliance with all BGL systems of operation.
  • Manage SRS reporting and tenement requirements required under DMIRS (safety statistical reporting as well as tenement management reports)
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required.
  • Reconciliation of the Bellevue Gold mining value chain. Understand variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Management of heritage compliance around the geological activities
  • Drive ongoing development of mine geological models and interpretations to enable efficient understanding and recovery of the ore body.
  • Provide information for, and contribute to mine planning, reserve development and resource growth at the operation.
  • Generation of resource-reserve models in cooperation with mining personnel
  • Management of the mine geology team
  • Hold the position of Alt. SSE as per business requirements and Exploration Manager for Golden Spur exploration leases.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in geology
  • 15 + years’ experience geology and significant experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience with contractor management
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential 
  • Understanding of general mining operations
  • Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Archean Lode style gold experience essential
  • Well-developed communication and literacy skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
  • Proficient in technical writing, reporting and communicating of technical data to the relevant Government authorities and investors/shareholders as required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; inclusive of training and retention of technical and field staff and consultants
