MNG’s most recent Business Unit is MNG SubSpatial, which specialises in the application of applied geophysical techniques to image a variety of complexities hidden within the subsurface. 

This role will suit an applicant that is motivated to join a very new business unit, assist in its growth, and promote innovation. The position can be tailored for someone starting in the industry or someone looking to take the next step in their career in delivering high quality SubSpatial information modelling.

What you bring to the table

You are a highly motivated individual who can contribute to the team in a positive and proactive manner. You will be responsible for:

  • Geophysical data acquisition of various near-surface geophysical techniques within Australian cities and regional locations.
  • Compliance with MNG’s policies and procedures, including health and safety within the fieldwork environment.
  • Geophysical data processing experience, competency in any of the following: Golden Software Surfer, Seequent Leapfrog and Res2DInv, Geolitix, AutoCAD, Rayfract and/or SurfSeis.
  • Factual reporting, detailing the logistics of the geophysical investigation, presentation and discussing the results, including suggestions and limitations.

What else do we need from you?

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Geophysics / Geology / Survey at a minimum
  • Experience in acquiring geophysical datasets in the field.
  • Preferably a strong understanding of near-surface geophysical techniques, including seismic methods (MASW, Seismic Refraction, ReMi), electrical methods (ERI, VES and FEM) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
  • Willingness to travel regionally for work.
  • Prior knowledge of geophysical processing, interpretation, and reporting will be beneficial, although training will be provided to bridge any competency gaps. We encourage candidates of all levels of experience to apply.
