We are seeking a casual GIS Analyst to assist our GIS team full-time with the possibility to extend this role to a permanent full-time role in the future.
Required Abilities:
- At least 3 years of professional experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- An ability to provide innovative solutions to a wide range of spatial challenges.
- Understanding of ESRI geodatabase creation, structure, schema and best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding the content and layout of maps.
- Good communication skills.
- Good process documentation skills.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Georeference spatial data from different data sources (e.g. aerials, DXF files and shapefiles).
- Create maps or plans presenting flora and fauna data collected during field surveys by the field staff, using aerial photographs, GPS data and other data sources.
- Import client data (e.g. DWG or DXF files of development footprint) for inclusion in maps or plans.
- Provide spatial analysis of map data (e.g. area calculations, intersections, overlays and buffers).
- Create Field Maps for field data collection.
- Prepare files containing spatial data for our clients and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain data management and filing systems.

Candidates must have undergraduate qualifications in the relevant science degree. The successful candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in GIS, including with Esri systems ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
Having experience with automation scripts in ArcGIS, ESRI Dashboards and Experience, QGIS, the Field Maps app, JIRA and Confluence are an advantage but not required.
Having worked with environmental mapping projects will also be an advantage.
A visa status enabling you to work in Australia is required (if not a citizen of Australia).
