In this role, you'll:
Work as part of the Technical Services' Digital Engineering team, delivering geospatial data assets and producing professional cartographic mapping by procuring, analysing, and presenting data for Transport projects. This role will see you maintaining geospatial data sets to agreed standards in line with supporting digital engineering deliverables. You will also support the creation of web maps and spatial applications to support decision making.
You will pioneer the use of Geographic Information System techniques for comprehensive analysis in specific geographic locations. You'll extract and analyze GIS data, recommend strategies based on findings, and provide maps to clients. Additionally, you'll update spatial data, advise on property matters, and support land surveys.
Your role includes leading the management of GIS platforms, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. You'll also undertake research projects, manage data sets, and coordinate with professionals like surveyors and engineers.
You will efficiently manage GIS contractors to ensure smooth operations.
Fixed-Term Full time Maternity leave cover until May 2025.

About you
You are a GIS Analyst passionate about engineering and technology. As a self-starter, you'll autonomously establish effective relationships, solve problems, and manage multiple cross-functional priorities with conflicting deadlines. Strong communication, attention to detail, and proficient multitasking are essential.
Qualifications in Geographic Information Systems (or related discipline) and applied Geomatics experience are essential. Proven skills in GIS mapping and spatial data analytics technologies like ESRI and ArcGIS are required.
