Governance Officer

A short term opportunity has become available with a Council located in Sydney's Inner West. 

Supporting the Manager Governance and Risk, you will assist with a wide range of corporate governance functions, including:

• Handling Access to Information requests (GIPA requests or FOI requests), primarily relating to building and development application records. 
• Responding to subpoenas or notices to produce.
• Supporting Council meetings and Councillor briefings – ordering catering, setting up rooms, updating calendar invitation details, liaising with other teams about briefings and reports for those meetings, getting meeting papers ready.
• Sitting in on and taking Council meeting minutes "live" 
• Maintaining various statutory registers
• Raising and receipting purchase orders 

You will bring to the role previous experience in a similar role, with exposure to systems such as Content Manager/Trim, InfoCouncil or strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly. 

Essential to the success of this short term assignment is previous experience within Local Government.
