This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about People, Culture and Governance within a cohesive team that supports Council’s objectives, strategies and policies.
The role will undertake tasks to monitor, maintain and improve the governance processes and systems of Council. This will require supporting the development, implementation and improvement of governance, ethical/administrative and risk management practices to ensure the maintenance of public confidence in Council.
In this role, you will report to our Director People, Culture & Governance and be part of a well-resourced team.
To assist you in performing this role, you will have:
- Exposure to governance and statutory compliance,
- Experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies
- Ability and/or experience interpreting a range of legislation.
- Experience in the use of records management systems.
- Essential to hold and maintain a Tasmanian Drivers’ Licence
- Desirable appropriate tertiary qualifications (diploma or degree equivalent) in governance, policy or risk management.
The West Tamar Council area includes the western side of the kanamaluka/Tamar Estuary from the suburban area of Riverside in Launceston and Trevallyn (part), extending north to Bass Strait and as far west as Frankford. Our Riverside Office is 8 minutes’ drive to the Launceston CBD.
