Salary: Band 6 - $90,571 –99,983 + 11 % superannuation
*Role includes an RDO
We are looking for a Governance Support and Business Projects Officer, you will work closely with the Governance Lead to ensure good governance principles are applied and legislative compliance requirements are met.
What you’ll be working on
- Deliver high quality administrative support to the Governance department as well as deliver on key departmental objectives and goals.
- Provide Governance advice to Councillors, management, staff and the public in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020 and Council’s Governance Rules
- Maintain all Registers as required for public inspection in accordance with Council’s Public Transparency Policy such as the Council’s Conflict of Interest Register.
What you need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge in processing FOI applications.
- Proven high-quality administrative skills.
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation.
- High level of demonstrated research, analytical, strategic, planning, and implementation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Sound research and analytical skills to produce concise and clear reports and policy documents.
- Detailed knowledge of legislation relevant to local government and associated statutory procedures.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Council meeting procedures.
- Understanding and sensitivity to current issues relating to governance, corporate administration, ceremonial, and legal services in a local government environment.
