Graduate Accountant & Intermediate Accountant

Spark Accountants is seeking an experienced & motivated Intermediate Accountant to join the team at our boutique practice on a full-time basis, working with complex group tasks.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Preparation of company, individual, partnership, trust, and SMSF tax returns
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual BAS/IAS returns
• Preparation of financial statements
• Management accounting, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliations, and payroll
• Liaise with the ATO as required by clients
• Provide taxation advice in communications with clients
• Assist with the preparation of cashflow forecasts, letters, business plans, correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
• Other general administrative tasks where required
• Direct contact with clients for various business and tax matters

Qualifications & experience:

• One to three years experience in Australian public practice
• A degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting
• Currently working towards obtaining either CA or CPA or willing to commence as soon as possible
• Proficiency in IT and computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge and experience working with MYOB and XERO are preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, self-initiative, and motivation
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with customers & clients
