Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.
AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and are committed to sustainable gas delivery today, and tomorrow. Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.
About the Opportunity
The Graduate Asset Engineer role will primarily support the Engineering and Standards team in the day-to-day operations of the gas network and will offer learning opportunities across the Network Operations team. You’ll learn from experienced professionals and be provided with continual training and support to help guide you towards your future career goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering standards for plant, materials, equipment and services;
- Manage and monitor the performance of the gas network plant and equipment;
- Assist to ensure that compliance with regulatory, industry and safety requirements is achieved in the design, construction and maintenance of gas assets;
- Monitor and report on network and asset performance, communicate new standards and developments, issue technical bulletins as appropriate;
- Conduct engineering assessments, investigation of performance problems, field faults and failures on plant, equipment, and materials;
- Support the development of Asset Management Strategies and Plans;
About You
- Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical / Civil) entitling membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia
- Ability to problem solve and think strategically
- Strong communication
- Able to interpret requirements and translate into actionable plans
- Team Player
- Demonstrated analytical thinking
- Able to lead by example in behaviour and values
- Experience working within utilities (Desirable)
