It involves the construction of a new underground rail tunnel through the central business district (CBD) of Melbourne and the addition of five new underground stations.The project aims to address the growing congestion and capacity issues in Melbourne's rail network by creating additional rail infrastructure.The new underground stations will be located at Arden, Parkville, CBD North, CBD South, and Domain. These stations will be integrated into the existing rail network and will provide improved access to key destinations such as universities, hospitals, and employment precincts.The Melbourne Metro project also includes the construction of new rail tunnels, tracks, and associated infrastructure to support the operation of the new rail line.Overall, the Melbourne Metro Tunnel and Stations project is a significant investment in Melbourne's public transportation system, aimed at enhancing capacity, improving connectivity, and providing a more efficient and sustainable mode of transport for the growing population.About the RoleWorking for John Holland as part of the Cross Yarra Partnership Maintenance team, the Asset Engineer will provide essential support during the project mobilisation phase and play a key role as part of the Asset Maintenance Team once the Maintenance Phase commences.Responsibilities of the role include;
- Support the successful acceptance of O&M Manuals from Project Team. Validate the documentation and information provided and assist with the system integration
- Attend handover inspection walks during the asset acceptance phase of the project, review and manage defects register
- Review and validate the integrity of asset information and continuous updates as required
- Monitoring and management of minimum reliability and availability performance targets to manage overall system performance
- Analyse asset data and report on asset performance and conditions
- Preparation of the Asset Management Plan including the Annual Works Plan and Forecast Maintenance Refurbishment Program
- Management of the Lifecycle replacement program to ensure delivery on time and budget and in accordance with the project requirements
- Ensure Asset Management activities meet the requirements of the ISO 55001 certification
- Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure optimal asset performance
- Managing and maintaining asset data and documentation
- Monitoring asset maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Tertiary degree in engineering, or a discipline related to asset management such as mechanical, electrical, civil, or engineering
- Experience in asset management, maintenance engineering or a related field is highly desirable
- Proficiency in data analysis, risk assessment, performance evaluation, and condition monitoring techniques Familiarity with asset management software and tools is an advantage
- Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop practical and effective solutions
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills are essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners
- The ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner is important
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Previous experience in Rail (highly regarded)
