About the role
As a key member of the asset management team, this role reports to the Performance Asset Manager. The focus is on optimizing performance through compliance, risk management, safety, asset planning, process improvement, and efficient operations and maintenance systems. The goal is to enhance strategic value within our operating assets. The person in this role will proactively manage risk and ensure compliance with corporate governance by conducting effective risk assessments and reporting.
Activities
- Download, Update and Analyse the operational performance and maintenance of assets using data from SCADA and O&M Contractor supplied data and reports.
- Consolidate and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provided by O&M contractors on a monthly basis and raise any issue to Performance Asset manager.
- Analyse monthly asset performance by calculating and monitor TotalEnergies Renewables operational performance indicators. • Monitoring, reporting and tracking of incidents, remedial actions and resolutions of each asset in a timely manner.
- Identifying, monitoring, reporting on and tracking issues causing underperformance. Including coordinating with the Operations Manager and O&M contractors in order to identify the root cause and potential mitigations.
- Assisting with the management of spare parts and warranty claims
- Help support regular compliance reporting including both internal as well as external such as off takers, lenders and relevant authorities and regulatory bodies
- Identifying, defining and proposing improvement projects to increase generation, reduce expenses, reduce downtime or mitigate risks.
- Provide monthly energy production (export and import) values to the stakeholders so obligations are fulfilled.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining HSE plans and records in line with TotalEnergies Renewables Australia policies.
- Supporting and providing input for the accurate and timely production of all reports to different project stakeholders including monthly dashboards, monthly reports, quarterly reports, semi-annual and annual reports.
- Developing and preparing additional reports as required, to effectively manage the performance of the assets.
- Supporting the Senior Asset Manager to ensure that assets are managed within budgets.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have a range of competencies and experience including:
• Engineering degree in a relevant field, preferably electrical engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar PV and or renewable energy projects would be advantageous
• Technical knowledge of solar farms and/or BESS projects, including equipment, systems, and performance optimization.
• Experience in defect or fault identification, Root Cause Analysis and rectification
• Experience in PV plant performance monitoring/measurement, optimisation and improvement
• Experience in providing concise and accurate reporting, such as incident, event, defects and/or faults as well as performance analysis
- Ability to adapt and aptitude to learn
- Ability to work to your own initiative / self-motivated
• A highly organised approach to work
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, etc)
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Able to travel regionally and nationally as required
• Experience with solar PV single-axis tracker commissioning and/or operations & maintenance would be desirable.
• Experience working in an analytical role using quantitative tools with the availability to interpret complex data sets.
• Attention to details.
• Excellent written skills.
- Familiarity with asset management principles and practices.
- Understanding of risk management concepts and principles.
• Understanding of document management and quality control principles.
• An understanding of renewable energy market and NEM.
• Experience developing analytical tools in python, or similar for data manipulation and analysis.
