- Temporary full-time opportunity for up to 24 months with the possibility of permanency.

About the role
NSW Public Works currently has exciting vacancies for entry level Graduate Engineers to join the NSW Public Works team. Working as a member of an integrated team in a positive and collaborative team culture environment, this is an opportunity for you to use your learning and develop your engineering application and business knowledge to build an exciting career in the engineering environment.
In this role you will be assisting the team in delivering water engineering projects across the project lifecycle including planning, investigation, design construction and commissioning. Additionally, you will be instrumental in supporting client needs to ensure the delivery of projects, having regard to time, cost, quality, safety and environmental targets.
Our expectation is that the knowledge you gained during your studies and attention to detail will add significant value to your experience and our projects. The chosen candidates will be directly responsible to and work with our Senior Engineers and Principal Engineers.
About you
We are looking for motivated Graduate Engineers who are willing to learn from senior staff and who thrive on working on multiple projects where your technical excellence is paramount. The ideal candidate shall meet, but not be limited to the following requirements:
- Completed a bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Engineering within the past 12 months or will complete your degree in 2024
- An interest in water related Infrastructure planning and design such as pumps, pipelines, treatment plants, dams, weirs and river structures
- Previous engineering experience is welcome but not essential
- A high degree of enthusiasm and drive, with a strong desire to assist in delivering positive outcomes as part of a team in the engineering environment
- A practical mindset with a hands-on approach to getting things done
- Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Project)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
- Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to be both autonomous and work cohesively within a team environment
- Current NSW Driver Licence with flexibility and willingness to travel to NSW regional towns, which may include overnight stays.
