Job description

TRONOX is a multinational mining, mineral processing and chemical manufacturing company.

With approximately 6,500 employees across six continents, our rich diversity, unmatched vertical integration model, and unparalleled operational and technical expertise across the value chain, position Tronox as the preeminent titanium dioxide producer in the world.

Are you ready to launch your brilliant career?

Tronox, a leading global mining and manufacturing company, is seeking bright and diverse Graduates to embark on our 3-year program, to join our dynamic team across our Australian sites.

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Tronox team!

We are eager to find the best Graduate for this role regardless of your location therefore, this role can be based at most of our Australian Locations. Rotations across departments or sites may be required to better build you experience and skill set throughout the program.

We have sites based across Western Australian and New South Wales, listed below.

Western Australia

  • Kwinana Pigment Plant (Perth)
  • Bunbury Pigment Plant (Bunbury)
  • North Shore Processing Plant (Bunbury)
  • Wonnerup Mine Site (Busselton)
  • Cooljarloo mine site (Cataby)
  • Chandala Processing Plant (Muchea)

New South Wales

  • Atlas Mine (Bus from Mildura)
  • Broken Hill Processing Plant (Broken Hill)

Who are Tronox, anyway?

It’s okay if you haven’t heard of us yet – we’ll change that. Tronox is a mineral sands miner and the only titanium dioxide pigment producer in Australia, and we’ve been doing it for 60 years! Lots of other miners take the raw product out of the ground but we are the only ones that add value by taking it all the way downstream.  This means you get to play around with more complex and interesting processes.

We’re big enough to operate industry leading projects and sites, but small enough to know how to take care of our people.

What to expect from the role?

  • With 10 sites across Australia and the majority in WA within driving distance you can gain valuable diverse experience in our graduate program.
  • Opportunity to experience a wide range of work types in the engineering fields from operations support through to project work and utilising the latest technology
  • We support our engineering graduates within our engineering teams to work on real plant improvement work and projects that provides a great start to your professional career
  • Applying the knowledge, you have from your degree to real industry

Our Graduate Mechanical Engineers will be responsible for:

  • Technical support to operations maintenance teams across an extensive range of mechanical equipment used in mining and mineral processing.
  • Projects from capital projects, reliability and asset strategy development.

Why join Tronox?

  • Jump straight into a structured and rotational three-year program - our supportive Mentors and Leaders want to learn from you as much as you learn from them
  • Gain unique exposure across our whole value chain – where else can you work on digging the material out the ground, upgrading it, and then processing it to the final product?
  • Not interested in FIFO? All of our sites are either residential (enjoy your own bed every night) or drive in, drive out.
  • Awesome lifestyle balance - Nine-day fortnight (every second Friday off)!
  • Health and wellness programs, social clubs along with volunteering
  • Great Salaries with eligibility to participate in the Tronox bonus scheme

Am I eligible to apply?

  • I have a Bachelors or master's in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • I am on track to graduate by the end of 2024 or have already graduated in the last 2 years.
  • Excited of the prospective of rotating through different departments or Australian sites to make you a well-rounded professional in your field
  • Most importantly I’m eager to LEARN!

Don't miss out on this brilliant opportunity!

Closing Date – Please submit your application no later than 16th of June 2024.

Don’t delay on submitting your application as applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis and we reserve the right to appoint a suitable candidate throughout the process. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!!!
