As an E&I Project Engineer, you will join our multidisciplinary project team working on an iconic long-term major mining project. As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of a wet processing facility for our client's Western Australian Iron Ore Operations. This will be their first major wet processing facility in 40 years, allowing you to be part of rare and exciting project.

What you’ll do:

  • Work in a role based at our centrally located Perth CBD office, with the view that once the project progresses you may be required mobilise to site during the construction.
  • Assist in creating, tendering, managing and closeout of SMPE&I Supply and Installation Contract.
  • Assist in managing E&I portions of the Contract offsite and onsite during construction.
  • Review documentation with the Lead and Senior Project Engineers to ensure technical aspects of the package are defined.
  • Development of scope to ensure sub-contract suppliers and site installation scopes are well-defined.
  • Provide a focal point for all E&I-focused technical and construction-based queries from the Contractor.
  • Liaise with both in-house and external designers as required for the successful completion of the project.
  • Ensure that the HSEQ requirements of the project are adhered to and that company procedures are followed.
  • Manage minor procurement packages and manage and track project expenditure in relation to scope and budget for materials and labour.
  • Manage, review and approve Contractor documentation throughout the life of the Contract.
  • Assist in project reporting, including both in-house and client reports.

About You

You’re likely to have experience in E&I Engineering, managing a contractor, as well as extensive field experience within mining project settings.

In addition, you will bring the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering and demonstrated experience in a mining construction environment.
  • Previous experience in managing a Contractor with technical, construction and commercial tasks and understanding.
  • High level of computer literacy across operating systems, office products, and engineering tools.
  • Good Communication skills in a team environment.
  • Electrical nominee status is desirable but not essential.
