We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Engineering / Maintenance Manager. This full-time position will be based at our Plywood Manufacturing Facility located in picturesque Myrtleford.
The Primary responsibilities of this position are:
- Assisting with the scoping, creation, coordination, and completion of projects
- Conduct compliance, safety, and risk assessments to ensure design integrity
- Assist the site with problem solving and identification of opportunities that improve operational performance and/or health and safety
- Providing mechanical design solutions for capital projects and preparing capital expenditure proposals
- Driving initiatives for continuous improvement
- Assisting in the production and upgrading of documentation as required
- Conducting feasibility studies and costing for performance improvement projects as required
- Assist in the management of projects to achieve outcomes, within budget and on time
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient in AutoCAD software and mechanical design
- Advanced computer literacy skills
- A high level of enthusiasm and motivation to tackle technical challenges
- Demonstrate attention to detail and are thorough in completing tasks
- Practically minded and analytical
- Innovative, resourceful and self-motivated
- Well organised and able to prioritise
- Have a hands-on approach to take concepts through to actions to achieve the required outcomes
- Excellent communication skills to foster strong working relationships with the broader operations and maintenance teams
