Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator
Western Health is seeking applications for a Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator at 0.8 FTE, working as a valued senior member of the Centre for Education and Learning team.
The Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Transition to Practice Programs for Nursing at Western Health. The Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator will support Western Health - Centre for Education and Learning in achieving its strategic aims. They will support the growth and maintenance of the future nursing workforce by coordinating programs that are based on best evidence and utilises contemporary educational theoretical frameworks and promote life- long learning.
The Grade 5 Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the Education and Learning management team at Western Health and will work closely to and report directly to the Grade 6 -Nursing Education and Learning Manager.
The role will include (but not limited to):
- Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the Nursing Transition to Practice Programs
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to support workforce development in Nursing Services
- Designing and delivering sustainable programs to enhance participants experience and transition into the workforce
- Monitoring graduate development in clinical reasoning, clinical skill and professional development, ensuring graduates are meeting all program requirements
- Actively promoting and coordinating recruitment and onboarding requirements, including rotation planning
- Collaborating with Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Instructors to deliver optimal education and clinical support to program participants
- Meeting set operational and financial targets
- Design and maintain a graduate nursing data base.
To be successful in this role you must possess:
- A Nursing registration with AHPRA
- A Postgraduate or Masters in education and/or leadership (or currently undertaking)
- A minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience with advanced clinical skills
- A minimum of 3 years Clinical Education experience, including experience in the development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of educational programs, with the ability to utilise contemporary strategies based on adult learning principles and theoretical frameworks.
