About the role:
Are you a new Graduate Occupational Therapist with less than one year’s experience? Are you looking for an opportunity to work with learners at a clinic and within their natural environment? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment? If the answer is yes, then we have the perfect role for you!
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join us on a part-time basis (3-4 days per week) or full-time basis. The Therapy Centre is located in Laverton North near the corner of Leakes Road and Leveret Road, within 20 km of Melbourne CBD. The centre has lots of parking, and its central location makes it an easy commute to the suburbs of Point Cook, Werribee, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina and Tarneit and is easily accessed via the Western Ring Road (M80) to the neighbouring suburbs of Deer Park, Yarraville, Foorscray, St Albans and Sunshine.
In the role, you will participate in a 12 month program designed to provide opportunities to assist you with the transition from student to clinician. Daily clinical supervision will be provided by a Senior Occupational Therapist. Ample opportunities to shadow your supervising Occupational Therapist will assist you to settle into the role and grow your clinical skills and experience.
In the role, the applicant will develop skills to:
- Work with children who have challenges with gross, fine motor, perception, self- care and sensory issues to reach their full potential.
- Run perceptual motor group sessions at school.
- Consultation with school based team to achieve learner outcomes.
- Develop therapy plans to support children to achieve their goals in consultation with a senior Occupational Therapist.
- Learn to administer a range of standardised paediatric assessments.
- Write progress notes.
- Write clinical reports with support from senior Occupational Therapists.

What do you need for the role?
- AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist with less than one year experience.
- Valid Victorian Drivers license and reliable motor vehicle.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential.
- Current police, working with children and DWES check.
