RedDoor Community Services is a passionate NDIS services provider that offers therapeutic and support service to a variety of clients, however our special area of interest is youth and early intervention.
Our organisation operates SIL houses, as well as supports clients in their homes, in the community and most commonly through various activities including supported employment in our centre.
As a Graduate Occupational Therapist you would have your own case load, and also work closely with our team to ensure we have holistic and individualised supports for our clients.
In this role you will:
- Assess clients’ physical, emotional and psychological capabilities using observations, standardised testing and getting to know the client, their situation and environment
- Evaluate functional status in the clients home, day care centre, school, and/or within community
- Understand their goals through collaboration with NDIS plan, client, family or other formal or informal supports, and other relevant clinicians
- Plan and implement interventions to support their goals
- Maintain accurate record keeping (Shiftcare)
Your Skills and Attributes
- Provision of assessment and intervention services to children, teens and young adults with a variety of developmental, functional and emotional needs
- Show sensitivities and open mindedness towards clients with various background, cultures, traumas, experiences and choices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and time management skills
- The ability to work independently as well as within a team
Requirements
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA registration
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Current drivers’ licence
- Willingness to work in Mount Isa at times as well
- Fly In Fly Out from Brisbane two weeks on two weeks off
