About the Opportunity
Mapei has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Technical Engineerto join the Technical Services team at our Wacol Offices in Brisbane. The primary purpose of the role is to provide support for construction projects by developing product system specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of the role will typically include, but not be limited to:
- Prepare short form specification that meet regulations and performance requirements for designers and stakeholders.
- To identify, develop and manage key specifiers as appropriate and to provide support to the sales and business development departments for ongoing projects as required.
- Maintain communication to relevant departments in relation to customer activity.
- Demonstrate how MAPEI solutions will meet client (including architects, designer, engineers, contractors/installer and end-user) needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle, project program.
- Become knowledgeable in various types of Construction Chemicals (incl. Flooring installation products, Resin and Cementitious Flooring, Roofing and Basement Waterproofing, Admixtures for Concrete and Mortars, Structural Strengthening and Bonding, etc.).
- Report up about lessons learned, project experiences, needed innovation, tools, and processes, and assist development of project case studies.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of specification masters.
- Assist in the development of key specification tools that can increase sales and branding presence.
- Stay up to date on industry trends to gain knowledge of latest developments in construction technology and regulations to ensure that the company's specifications are always compliant and competitive.
- Accurately document and report on project progress, issues, and solutions, including any authorised verbal agreements with customers.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- Bachelors or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, design or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate technical documentation.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team.
- Must be able to communicate professionally, including written responses and presenting.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Well-developed planning, organising and time management skills.
- Valid and current motor vehicle driver licence.
