Working closely with the business directors, as Grain Merchant you will assist them with accumulation and sourcing from growers across New South Wales and Queensland. You will assist with sourcing a broad range of grains, oilseeds and stockfeed to meet their customer demand, and be responsible for ensuring the ongoing supply of raw material. You will manage a program with growers, ensuing year-round consultation and ensure they are directly connected with market trends and conditions.You will deal with a variety of stakeholders, including transport, growers, traders and end users, and be responsible for developing and supporting business strategies to target growth at both an accumulation and sales point. You will play a key part in developing and executing a trading strategy within the business and be part of driving our client’s business forward.The Person
To be successful in this role you will ideally:
- Experience in agricultural commodity trading or logistics for 3+ years.
- Exposure in a suitable industry such as grains/dairy/feedstock procurement.
- An understanding of supply and demand across agricultural commodities.
- The ability to liaise and communicate with producers, storage and handlers and transport operators.
- Comfortable working in a team based environment but capable of working autonomously and independently when required.
