About the role
The Grain Protection Supervisor of our Brisbane Ports (Fisherman Island and Pinkenba), supervises a team of experienced (and licenced) Terminal Operators responsible for ensuring that grain received, stored and distributed / exported from our terminals a free of insect infestation and within applicable domestic and international tolerances.
You’ll develop, implement and maintain a grain fumigation schedule / plan for our sites as well as for pest control activities broadly.
The role will work closely with other Grain Protection Managers, National Grain Husbandry Managers, terminal management and regulatory bodies (e.g. DAFF) to maintain a high level of technical standard / practice and to help GrainCorp meet its audit / compliance / external obligations.
About your experience
Our ideal candidate is a licenced Pest Management Technician (with Fumigator Licence) in QLD and solid experience in conducting, training and supervising others in fumigation and pest control activities within a related setting.
You should also have:
- Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements applicable to fumigation and pest control activities
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills and numeric ability
- Flexibility to receive calls or attend site, outside of standard hours (ad-hoc) to support team.
In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
