Graphic Designer

Derringer is in an exciting growth phase and is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Graphic Designer (and all-round nice person!) to join our team.

This opportunity is for a talented Graphic Designer to join our creative team on a permanent, full-time basis. Because of our compact size, the role offers great, hands-on experience across a diverse range of clients and projects, with opportunities to work directly with our MD and CD, as well as our other designers and freelance partners. You will be working across (but not limited to): Brand and visual identity, print collateral, digital, video content, environments, social and events.

As one of our Graphic Designers, you will also get to collaborate with external stakeholders, as well as attend photo shoots, site visits and client meetings. You will bring outstanding creative ideas, a strong design aesthetic and a passion for typography to the team – with attention to detail that rivals the best in the business!

You will be required to work onsite with the team in a collaborative and productive manner.

– Demonstrate critical and creative thinking.

– Bring new ideas to life, from conception through to implementation and artwork.

– Conceptualise and execute ideas within existing client guidelines and across all media.

– Collaborate with and support the Managing Director and Creative Director, along with other members of the creative team/freelancers.

– Assist in development of photo and video shoots.

– Work across multiple design projects simultaneously, always to deadlines and to an impeccable standard

– Communicate skillfully and with a can-do attitude.

– Confidently share ideas and contribute to brainstorms and meetings.

– Proof-read/check your work for errors before sharing with the wider team.

– Stay up to date with design trends and creative tools.

– Demonstrate a willingness to continually learn.

– Have fun and bring energy to the team dynamic!

– 2-3 years of professional experience within an agency is ideal, but recent University graduates will also be considered (if you are an outstanding candidate).

– Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/Visual Communication or similar.

– Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma.

– Understanding of print and digital design principles.

– Basic HTML and WordPress skills.

– Digital design experience with eDMs, website assets, digital screens, and animation.

– Comfortable with workflow management tools.

– Animation skills, Video editing and After Effects highly regarded, but not essential.

– Knowledge of Canva beneficial, but not essential.

– May need to travel to other business location.

– Illustrations skills beneficial, but not essential.
