Form of workTalent International is currently recruiting for a Graphic Designerto work for a Local Government client based in Merrylands. The position is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension and are paying $38.45 per hour + super.
28 hours per week (Tuesday – Saturday).
Description:
- Create design materials aligned to Council’s brand toolkit.
- Create be-spoke design material for use by Council for use in the promotion of events, activities, policies and services.
- Assist with the management of Council’s brand by promoting, monitoring and improving on Council’s style guide.
- Deliver the graphic design, collateral production distribution and marketing service for Council.
- Work within budgets and achieve best value for money.
- Design various communications materials, including Council publications, brochures, leaflets, flyers, newsletters, banners, posters, websites, packaging and other printed and digital content.
- Support various team across the organisation on promoting their services and initiatives by developing promotional materials and deliver graphic design, production, distribution, evaluation and marketing photography components of these strategies.
- Ensure knowledge of relevant legislation and graphic design trends are kept up to date.
Essential Criteria:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in design
- Ability to consult, share information and work collaboratively.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- A strong portfolio of design work and experience using various computer packages including Adobe CS and Pre-press.
- Ability to manage diverse and competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
Desirable Criteria:
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project management skills and/or experience
- Experience in web design and multimedia.
- Experience working in Local Government
