The role:
The Green Adelaide Education program engages with education sites and local communities to develop the knowledge, skills, values, and behaviours to become cooler, greener, wilder and climate resilient. The role supports efforts to create lasting behaviour change through developing an appreciation for nature and building the capacity of individuals and groups to take action to protect and enhance natural systems.
Duties:
- Work with schools and communities to enable and facilitate environmental outcomes linked to Green Adelaide's priorities.
- Support the delivery of the Youth Environment Council of SA, student environment leadership programs and Climate Ready Schools.
- Provide technical, educational and on-ground project advice and support to stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to connect schools to local community groups and initiatives and the development of strategies and programs to engage students and communities in practical learning experiences.
Specialist Skills and Experience:
The successful applicant will have a passion for working as part of a team toward sustainability, have demonstrable experience in partnership initiation, community and school engagement, highly developed communication skills, and the ability to motivate stakeholders.
