As an Education and Community Activator, you will have the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities. You will play a pivotal role in supporting Community Engagement and advancement initiatives. Your primary role will be to facilitate programs and services that empower individuals and communities to help themselves. You will be at the forefront of community development efforts, activating and mobilising communities through innovative projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate educational activities, workshops and training sessions aimed at upskilling community members towards their passions and interests.
- Manage and oversee our community cafe as a platform to integrate education and learning spaces, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Provide support in planning and designing new programs that promote community development and empowerment.
- Engage with community members to identify needs, interests, and opportunities for growth and development.
- Collaborate with local organisations, businesses, and stakeholders to maximise community impact and resources.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualification in education, community or social science or related field
- Passion for Community Engagement, collaboration and education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of people.
- Experience in community organising, or education advocacy is preferred but not required.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
