We are seeking a passionate Greenkeeper to join our Roma Street Parkland team in a full-time, permanent role.
The Greenkeeper’s main responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Undertake turf maintenance activities of a diverse manner to achieve the standards expected by City Parklands within required timelines.
- Carry out the appropriate programs of pest and nutrition management, lawn renovations and annual over-sowing programs as directed, using appropriate technology and application techniques.
- Operate and maintain specialised greenkeeping & horticultural motorised/commercial machinery and equipment as required.
- Monitor and assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems; and
- Assist in setting up functions and events in the Parkland.
- Certificate in Greenkeeping (AQF level 3) Trade Qualification or equivalent competencies gained through structured training or experience.
- Drivers Licence;
- AC/DC spray licence, Chemical handling.
- Certificate in Irrigation is highly desirable but not required.
- Demonstrated experience in greenkeeping maintenance of high-quality lawns and turfed areas using specialised turf and greenkeeping equipment.
- Sound knowledge and experience in maintaining gardens and general horticultural work in maintaining parks and gardens.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and applying horticultural chemicals using recommended application procedures, technology, and techniques.
