An exciting opportunity has become available for an Executive Chef to drive food innovation and creativity across our diverse portfolio of pubs and restaurants.
The Role
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Director – as Executive Chef, you will be our creative compass and an integral part of Solotel’s strategic shift to grow food-led venue concepts and ‘refresh’ opportunities within Solotel’s portfolio.
From large multi faceted venues to small community pubs, this is a varied portfolio – full of well established brands, where you can tap into your creativity and excite the senses across multiple cuisines and food offerings with our pubs at the centre of your focus.
As Executive Chef, a key objective will be the nurturing of talent and fostering of creativity within our Senior Chef team to empower and elevate their skills. Following our unique business rhythm, your week will include rotating across venues and getting hands on in all aspects of 1:1 mentoring with our Head Chefs, menu development, creative cooking sessions, leadership development and training.
This is the perfect opportunity to pass on your knowledge and create an environment where our chefs are bold in cultivating their creativity and thinking outside of the box.
The role also includes:
- Execution and evolution of each venue’s food concepts and narrative based on guest behaviour and quality control.
- Owning Solotel’s food strategy and creating our 12 month food map in collaboration with the Food & Beverage team
- Working with Head Chefs to ensure profitability through menu engineering, cost control measures and supplier relationships
- Embedding the Solotel “DNA” through consistency in kitchen standards and practices.
- Staying abreast of the latest industry trends and consumer preferences to ensure Solotel remains at the forefront of culinary innovation
- Building and driving Creative Food Training programs across the business to enable growth within our teams
- Training and mentoring our Senior Chef team through menu development, creative sessions and more!
