About the Role
The Liveability and Natural Assets Group is focused on taking a balanced approach to planning and delivery of sustainable environmental and infrastructure development to meet the needs of the growing population and maintain the liveability of the region.
The Group Executive Officer provides strategic business advice and coordinates functions to provide executive support to the Group Executive and the management team to assist in the delivery of organisational initiatives, group projects and high-quality correspondence.
The Group Executive Officer will have a pivotal role and the specific responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Participate as a member of the Group Leadership Team to provide support for implementation of organisational projects, initiatives and improvements in the Group.
- Coordinate resources, meetings and activities which lead to a seamless interface of general, sensitive, and confidential activities within the Group.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships that enable effective business support that are in line with Council’s values and positively represent the organisation.
- Lead research and projects on behalf of Group Executive, on a diverse range of matters using sounds methodologies and providing advice and options for decision making.
- Preparing succinct, timely and accurate written communications including and not limited to agenda papers, briefing papers, minutes, newsletters, presentations, and Council reports.
This position is located at the Sunshine Coast City Hall, based in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
About you
As this is a Group Executive Officer role, you’ll need to be a good problem solver with strong people skills, so you can effectively talk through any issues and decisions with council team members and other stakeholders.
You will have demonstrated experience working effectively with a senior leadership/ executive team providing high level executive support and advice.
You will possess high level of written communications skills in the provision of business cases, reports and other documents for senior management and executives.
As a requirement of this role, you will have recognised tertiary qualifications in business, management, or other relevant discipline and/or substantial equivalent experience preferably in a large diverse organisation.
