Group Fitness Instructors: Les Mills & Freestyle Classes

Reports To: Health & Fitness Coordinator

ANU Sport is an independent incorporated association that delivers sport, fitness and recreation services and opportunities to the ANU Community. 

Our goal here at ANU Sport is to enhance and grow the opportunities for the ANU community to engage in sport, fitness and recreation, promoting well-being and balanced lifestyles. As one team, we deliver for over 3,000 members, catering for performance through to participation with an emphasis on experience, excellence, and diversity. Our diverse Group Fitness program entails a number of classes including Stretch & Mobility, Yoga & Pilates, RPM, Zumba, HIIT, Tactical, Metcon and a suite of Les Mills offerings. 

We have exciting opportunities for new Group Fitness Instructors to join our team at ANU Sport. We aim to deliver high-quality fitness services and expertise within a friendly and positive community. Located in the heart of the ANU campus, we are a student-focused gym with a diverse membership, proudly serving people from across Canberra.

We are seeking applications for all Group Fitness classes with top hiring priorities being:

• Les Mills RPM
• Les Mills BodyAttack

• Maintain flexibility with a Group Fitness timetable that scales up and down during semesters 
• Be supported by a multi-faceted administration team including dedicated Fitness, Memberships and Marketing coordinators.

Knowledge, skills, and ability

• Skilled in high energy deliverance while instructing 
• Ability to guide, facilitate and supervise large groups with confidence.
• Ability to follow instructions and work within existing procedures. 
• Committed to creative design and implementation of classes.
• Ability to work independently.
• Les Mills Qualifications if applicable

Responsibilities and duties

• Deliver safe exercise programs relevant to your qualification to a variety of clients
• Offer encouragement, positivity, and motivation to a variety of clients during exercise demonstration and leading 
• Demonstrate initiative and transparency when reporting to supervisors
• Maintain and demonstrate ANU Sport values 

There are openings available for trainers holding any of the following qualifications:

• Cert III in Fitness
• Current First Aid & CPR 
• Les Mills Qualifications if applicable
