Access theResponsible for oversight of the human, physical and financial resources of the Gold Coast Laboratory Group which consist of more than 120 full-time equivalent staff and has an annual budget of more than $23M.Provide leadership in service delivery, scientific, clinical and ethical standards, patient safety, client management and quality improvement activities to shape service delivery across the group of laboratories. Provide high level direction to ensure that Gold Coast Laboratory Group meet all relevant legislative, administrative and professional standards to exceed National Association of Testing Authorities and International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation/certification requirements.Key competencies (role specific criteria)You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated scientific knowledge as it applies to a multi-disciplinary clinical laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a client focussed service and liaise with clinical and managerial staff in the implementation and provision of an integrated pathology service, utilising well-developed levels of clinical knowledge, expertise and skill to meet the requirements of the relevant Hospital and Health Service.
- Demonstrated advanced negotiation, consultative, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to convey strategic initiatives to both internal and external clients in the provision of a client focussed service.
- Demonstrated ability to provide the strategic and operational management of a complex integrated pathology service to ensure professional clinical standards and established principles/procedures are delivered across multiple geographical sites.
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the management of human, financial and physical resources providing strategic direction for a group of pathology laboratories. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others to achieve personal and organisational goals.
- The successful applicant must have a Degree in Applied Science – Medical Science or equivalent.
- A general management or business management qualification is highly desirable.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties
