The ‘Group Manager Customer, Community Services’ is responsible for leading over 215 FTE staff, plus over 120 casual employees across Recreation, Community Services & Facilities (including multiple Childcare centres and Aged care programs), Civic Communications, Events & Operations, Libraries & Customer Services. The position is also responsible for the operations of our award-winning Waves Fitness & Aquatic Centre.

Key Accountabilities
- Value our customers by engaging with and informing our community, whilst also advocating on their behalf.
- Deliver on various projects and programs within budget. The total budget being managed exceeds $50M.
- Define and implement customer service strategies and influence others to contribute to implementation.
- Ensure public spaces are attractive, safe, and well maintained providing a variety of recreational and leisure activities to support active lifestyles.
- Provide a connected and supported community with access to a range of services and facilities that contribute to health and wellbeing.
- Drive best practice procurement activities to ensure value for money and ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Direct safe work practices and ensure that Council fulfils its health and safety obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
- Improve planning processes and reporting to enhance business performance and accountability.
- Ensure sustainable financial management of council assets.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide expert advice to both the executive team, Mayor and Councillors. This includes attending and presenting at regular Council meetings and workshops.
