As the Group Risk Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading AGL's enterprise risk management practices, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and accountability across our dynamic business. Be part of a team dedicated to excellence, innovation, and fostering a positive risk culture.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the General Manager - Group Risk, Compliance and Insurance, you will:
- Provide strategic direction to the enterprise risk management function and drive enterprise-wide work programs
- Work with senior management across all operational business divisions to develop, update and analyse AGL's Strategic Risks for regular reporting to the Audit & Risk Management Committee
- Build a capable and motivated team by ensuring that people are engaged, and developed effectively to meet current and future needs of AGL
- Monitor the effectiveness of AGL's risk management framework on an ongoing basis, and adjust the framework as required
- Implement AGL's new enterprise risk management system across the business, ensuring the system is operating efficiently and effectively to support the business in managing its risk
- Proactively work to embed the principles, requirements and objectives of AGL's Risk Framework within all business areas in order to drive capability and maturity uplift in first line risk practices
- Provide practical and pragmatic advice to the business to improve the maturity of risk and compliance
About You
What you'll bring to the table
- Demonstrated experience designing, enhancing and implementing Risk Management frameworks in large and complex organisations
- Proven ability to lead, develop and mentor teams to high performance
- Strong understanding of Risk Management frameworks, ISO 31000 knowledge
- Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills
- Experience working with stakeholders at all levels, in particular at senior level
- Proven experience in risk management with a relevant undergraduate degree
- Knowledge of energy industry risks (desirable)
