This Australian success story has been manufacturing market leading products and selling their products through a range of channels. The products are very innovative and have a reputation with consumers around Australia and New Zealand as quality and high performance. They are currently embarking on a range of strategic changes which is creating an opportunity to further enhance their product offering and manufacturing capability, and due to this a role has been created this role to lead the business.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO and part of the Executive Leadership Team, this is a critical leadership position responsible to lead all supply activities which has had double digit growth in the past few years. The key responsibilities will be:
- Manage the Supply Chain function including logistics operations, procurement, and inventory to ensure that materials are deliver to production on a timely manner, customer service levels are met/exceeded, costs are managed, and the process is optimized, in a safe environment.
- Work closely with all divisions within the business to ensure KPIs are met.
- Manage all domestic and international purchasing activities from both suppliers and work closely to reduce lead times where possible, consolidate orders, improve service levels, and reduce cost.
- Identify and implement suppliers into the organisation to ensure components, parts and indirect spend categories are sourced in the most efficient manner with the highest quality.
- Work with internal stakeholders including to develop a robust planning and Supply Chain process.
- Manage all buying and inventory activities including management of the replenishment system to ensure part availability to the operations.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts to mitigate risk due to long lead times from overseas suppliers.
- Create metrics and develop reporting on KPI’s such as DIFOT, inventory levels, slow and obsolete stock.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels are held to reduce inventory value whilst increasing service levels to operations.
- Develop robust process across end-to-end Supply Chain operations to support continued growth and increases in volume.
- Manage costs through analysis, reporting and building operational efficiencies.
- Work closely with the senior management team to develop Supply Chain strategy and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Recruit, lead, motivate and manage a team within the Supply Chain function as it continues to grow.
This is a senior role responsible for the overall business. In order to be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualified ideally.
- Open to any industry but must have at least 5 years’ experience managing complex Supply Chain activities including procurement and buying activities with high SKU/part counts delivering parts to operations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Must have experience developing suppliers and implement services levels to ensure the highest quality materials are delivered to the business.
- A strong analytical ability and experience in developing metrics to measure and improve operational capabilities
- A strong understanding of planning with the ability to develop process and improvement systems in collaboration with others
- Experience in managing suppliers with differing lead times and driving efficiencies through order patterns, service levels and cost.
- Must be open to a change, collaborative, resilient and capable of pushing back against internal teams that may show resistance.
- Able to work through ambiguity.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to think strategically and alongside senior management but also manage day to day operations
- Computer literate with extensive exposure to ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Must be a team player who is motivated, driven and can drive change in an inclusive and collaborative manner.
