What you'll do
Due to a successful internal career move, we have an opportunity for a strategic and experiencedFleet Manager to lead the innovation and management of Store Delivery transport fleet assets to pursue & deliver safety, environmental outcomes & enable efficient transport performance nationally.
Utilising your leadership and great communication skills to work directly with your team and network of providers to achieve high standards, you will:
- Manage Fleet Operations & Fleet tracking and systems. Progress the equipment strategy and ongoing safety and cost management of all Primary Connect transport assets. This includes capital planning, design, procurement, innovation, compliance, maintenance and utilisation of all transport owned assets including trailers, containers and tugs.
- Play a critical role as the technical Transport expert to advise and consult others on requirements and solutions that need to be delivered through third parties to minimise risks where possible.
- Procurement of assets and services and supplier management for equipment, services and financing ensuring both accountability and performance for all aspects of supplier performance and overall management of the fleet.
- Key contact in relation to transport safety and elements of DC site design including swept paths, weighbridges, maintenance facilities, wash facilities and yard tugs to ensure Store Delivery and PC+ needs are incorporated into the design elements.
- Innovation and design responsibility across all fleet aspects for the group including the Online fleet to pursue and deliver safety and environmental outcomes including Zero Emission vehicles and capability (e.g. electric refrigeration for trailers).
What you'll bring
- Extensive experience in fleet assets management, governance, maintenance or transport operations & heavy vehicle maintenance
- Experience in scoping and delivering the technical aspects of transport fleet design
- Operational competency in transport with dedicated fleet operations, equipment design and specification
- Well developed consulting toolkit and problem solving skills - an analytical, innovative and creative mindset
- Strong business partnering skills with ability to influence & gain credibility with senior stakeholders and project teams
- Ability to be self-directed; to structure and manage workloads and be an independent contributor to the team
- Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Proven people leadership skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
- Prior experience in efficiency and cost reduction programs will be highly regarded
