Group Technical Lead

We are looking for a Group Technical Lead to join our wonderful and diverse team of eCommerce specialists. You will help lead a talented team of Developers and act as a Tech Lead across company projects and our support stream. You’ll provide guidance and support to Technical Leads and Developers in the business and their respective teams onshore and offshore.
You’ll be an active participant in the continuous achievement of best practice when it comes to company standards and play a critical part in the development and bringing to life of unique and innovative eCommerce solutions for clients, across a broad spectrum of industry sectors.
You will be advising on the technical architecture of solutions, as well as on technical design and development, and communicate with clients as part of sales, project or support activities.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and mentor a team of onshore and offshore developers, with differing skillsets, with the ability to share and train other team members in problem solving
- Support of requirements analysis and technical design of software solutions in collaboration with the Development team and Solution Architects
- Guidance for major technical decisions in the development process focused on delivery projects within set constraints (scope, time, quality, budget and resources)
- Act as an escalation point for Developers in the project and support streams
- Involvement in Design and maintenance of the framework / skeleton of the solution
- Technical consultancy to enterprise customers
- Code development (high-complexity solutions, where required)
- Software Quality Assurance (audits, code reviews, testing, etc)
- Requirements analysis and estimations for potential sales, projects and solutions
- Contribute to the corporate IT infrastructure of automation software and tools, optimisation of the structure and processes
- Absorb complex information and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences (internal stakeholders and clients)
- Ongoing assessment of Technical team members and support improvement of their technical and soft skills
Your Skills/Experience:
- Ongoing assessment of Technical team members and support improvement of their technical and soft skills
- A bachelor's degree in IT or Science. Absence of a degree can be superseded by 5+ years of additional experience AND recent experience in areas with similar complexity to Balance’s projects
- Completion of Adobe Commerce courses and certification including Adobe Commerce Developer Expert and Adobe Commerce Architect Master
- 5+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of experience in Adobe Commerce projects (across all areas of implementation)
- 3+ years of experience leading and coaching a team of Developers & Tech Leads
- Proficiency in Adobe Commerce/Magento 2.x, Headless / MACH, Enterprise Integration Patterns, UML Agile SCRUM
- SCRUM Master certification will be highly regarded
Role requires a relevant tertiary qualification with 2 or more years’ experience in a similar role OR a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in lieu of qualification.
