About us:
The National Timber & Hardware Association (NTHA) is the leading industry Association operating in the timber, building materials and hardware sectors. NTHA operates a Group Training Organisation (GTO), NTHA Trainees & Apprentices specialising in employment and training within the Timber, Forestry, Furnishing, Construction and Hardware industries.
The role:
As a GTO Field Officer you will be responsible for ensuring suitable Apprentices and Trainees are recruited, mentored, and successfully complete their Apprenticeships. Reporting directly to the GTO General Manager, this position presents an exciting challenge for someone who has a strong desire for changing people’s lives.
You will manage and develop a caseload of Apprentices and Trainees across Queensland/Northern NSW.
The objectives of this position include:
- Mentor apprentices and trainees throughout their contract of training.
- Promote and sell the Group Training service to prospective Host Employers across Queensland.
- Provide a quality service which ensures ongoing viability of the GTO’s operation.
- Grow the caseload and meet targets for successful completion of Apprentices/Trainees.
- Operate in compliance with the 2017 National Standards for Group Training Organisations.
You will have the flexibility of working from home, car, or our office in Rocklea. Some travel to other parts of Queensland and Northern NSW is involved in this role.
About you:
To secure this opportunity, you will have high-level communication skills, a strong interest in mentoring young people, fantastic time management skills, and a working knowledge of employment regulations.
Experience in a GTO/AASN environment, construction/trade background, or experience in the employment services sector will be advantageous.
Most importantly though, you will be a flexible individual who is up to tackling the challenges that come your way, and your enthusiasm and compassion will resonate with those you interact with.
