In this pivotal role, you will enhance and facilitate scientific research projects, programs, and initiatives by offering your expertise in statistical analysis and agricultural data management. Collaborating closely with academic staff and high-degree research students, you will operate at the intersection of biometrics, statistics, and data science. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work alongside leading scientists from agricultural and environmental fields, contributing to groundbreaking research projects and advancing the frontiers of science.Key responsibilities will include:Develop analysis plans and analyse data with a focus on the Ecoscience research domains with support available from senior staff.Work closely with researchers to understand their projects and provide necessary statistics support required to meet their research goals.Applies and/or instructs others on the application of advanced or specialist or technical research skills or processes in the field of Biometrics.Deliver training workshops.Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs.Where appropriate assist in on report on research results to the scientific community via reports, posters, papers and presentations.This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 1 year. At HEW level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,396.47 - $86,029.78 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,553.87 - $100,654.84 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.About YouAt degree in machine learning, statistics, or related discipline with experience as a biometrician.At least 1 year of experience in a workplace setting providing statistical expertise in research.An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Sound knowledge in statistical analysis and machine learning applied to agricultural data, encompassing experimental design and the analysis of longitudinal and GIS datasets.Ability to identify and address challenges in agricultural research processes, themes, and their interpretation.Ability to communicate with scientists and students to understand their needs.Demonstrated expertise in the use of R, Python, or other statistical environmentsDesirableMasters degree in machine learning, statistics, or related discipline with experience as a biometrician.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
