We are partnering one of Australia’s leading resources companies, to secure the services of an experienced Mechanical Engineer. Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering Governance & Technical Stewardship (GTS), you will provide guidance and technical expertise to a team of engineers with a large stakeholder group across the business with a particular focus on all aspects of mobile plant (CAT & Komatsu). As a GTS Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing designs and proposals helping adhere to Australian and ISO standards.
This assignment will cover a period of 6 – 12 month contract working out of their Perth CBD office.If successful, you will be rewarded with:

- Providing technical expertise to a broad range of stakeholders including Project, Production and Maintenance teams in both planned and breakdown environments
- Managing and governing mechanical standards
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements and internal policies, procedures and standards with respect to classified plant
- Identifying opportunities for technical improvements and the use of new technology to support the delivery of capital projects
- Controlling and maintaining the blueprint (e.g. standards, specifications, procedures and drawings)
- Reviewing and approving Mechanical Engineering and design requests to support our Management of Change process
- Providing technical advice to safety incident and root cause analysis investigations
- Assisting with the development of budget and capital planning
- Reviewing consultant Mechanical Engineering work against the appropriate standards and auditing technical changes on site for compliance
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Very strong technical design experience on CAT & Komatsu mobile plant
- Strong ability to engage and interact with, and gain the confidence of a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience gained from working in teams such as maintenance, planning, design and / or operations
- Team focused with the desire to mentor and guide others
- Current Australian drivers’ licence
