Unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated Hardship Officer. Newly created and a stand-alone role to support another Hardship Officer in their Melbourne office.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and evaluate customer's ability and intent to maintain payments
- Maximise collections and recoveries strategies for all accounts in Hardship.
- Conduct financial analysis to support or reject hardship applications
- Negotiate debt payment/settlements in line with customer and business needs
- Negotiate complex disputes with customers to ensure the best outcomes while mitigating exposures.
- Recommend action to recover debts
- Provide regular reporting regarding the hardship portfolio.
- Make decisions and provide recommendations on cases under delegation
To be shortlisted:
- 3+ years of commercial experience in collections/hardship ideally in Asset Finance
- Relevant business or finance-related tertiary qualifications completed or in progress preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail
- Experience working with administrators/liquidators, auctioneers, valuers, mercantile agencies, and legal practitioners
- Demonstrated background - successful credit analysis, debt collection, and recovery
- Team player with demonstrated empathy and decision-making abilities
