The pivotal role of our Harvest Operations Team is indispensable to the success of our harvest. We seek dependable, skilled, and efficient individuals to handle the transportation of our fruit, contribute to packaging processes, and ensure the seamless operation of our facilities. Additionally, maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workplace is a crucial aspect of their responsibilities.
Our Harvest Operations Team is brought on board seasonally, specifically for our berry Harvest. You will be engaged for the duration of this harvest season.
As a Harvest Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the efficient and effective harvesting of our horticultural products. You will lead a team of dedicated workers, overseeing all aspects of the harvesting process, from planning and execution to quality control and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily harvesting activities to meet production targets.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of harvest workers, providing training and guidance as needed to ensure daily KPI targets are met.
- Manage and maintain harvesting equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct toolbox meetings.
- Coordinate workers, allocating rows and stacking rows when necessary.
- Identified rows not picked to an acceptable standard, providing constructive feedback to workers concerned.
- Help ensure picking stations are set up correctly and co-ordinate moving of blocks.
- Complete all Harvest documentation required.
- Undertake in-house training on relevant work instructions.
- Follow MB policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all workers follow MB’s high quality of WHS & Food Safety standards.
- Report all injuries and accidents immediately to the Harvest Manager.
- Perform other duties as required by Harvest Management
Qualifications and Skills:
- Have a strong work ethic and keen sense of initiative.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating people.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role, particularly in Harvest and Quality practices
- Knowledge of horticultural practices and harvest management.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments.
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a car and Licence.
