Hazard Log Engineer - QTMP

We are currently seeking to engage a Safety Assurance Engineer (QTMP Hazard Log Engineer) who would like the opportunity to work on this major project. You will be responsible for providing safety engineering and conduct associated activities that underpin safety assurance of the assigned assets. The role is responsible for ensuring that effective safety assurance systems are implemented and utilised which deliver defined business objectives whilst ensuring overall compliance to system safety, regulatory and customer requirements.

Role:

• Ensure all designs comply with contractual requirements, specifications and standards.
• Manage completion of Hazard Log activities to confirm and document compliance to contract specification requirements.
• Mange the safety aspects and Hazard Log, assist in the development of asset strategies and the development of train systems and equipment including integration with rolling stock and assurance systems and operating methodologies.
• Review Hazard Log and related safety assurance submissions of highly complex train systems and other information associated with rolling stock design submitted by contractors and design teams.
• High level understanding of rail safety analysis including process to SFAIRP and development of safety cases.
• Manage the preparation of Hazard Log and associated system safety assurance documentation and review testing plans to commission various train systems.

What you will bring to the team:

• 3 years relevant experience in rolling stock system and facilities safety assurance and Hazard Log management
• Degree qualified or equivalent - engineering
• Competent in DOORS, database, requirements management
• Ability to conduct detailed safety assurance investigations and provide clear and decisive results and written reports
• Excellent computer skills with experience in the development and management of information systems
• Able to organise and prioritise tasks and personnel to effectively meet goals and objects
• Safety approach of EN50126, EN50128 & EN50129, AS4292
• RISSB Hazards Register, Hazard Log management
• Relevant Australian and International standards
• Rolling stock design, verification and operations
