What are we looking for? A skilled Welding Supervisor who is looking to take the next step in their career path or career change.
We are seeking a skilled and talented welding supervsor or senior tradesperson who is looking to progress their career within the technical welding procedures, training and skill development pathway. With a busy workshop and growing crew size here at Obadare, you will have the ability to dedicate a large percentage of your time into a procedural, training and development role. This will include mentoring and developing our apprenticeship program, performing one-on-one or group training and learning sessions and promoting our safe work practices including SOP sign off.
The other part of your role will be spent hands on within projects assisting with fabrication documentation, reviewing specifications and procedures and performing fit up and/or dimensional sign offs. As the role and business grows we do see those percentages of time changing and the role developing more into a full-time training and development position.
Key Tasks:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures and project schedules
- To carry out fabrication, maintenance and upgrades as per Supervisor's instruction
- Ability to train staff members and develop training packages/materials
- All works to be completed with stringent adherence to the company's Fabrication ITP and API Q1 accredited policies and procedures
- Ensure that the work area is kept clean, tidy and equipment is maintained to company requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential
- Trade certificate or further trade/tertiary studies
- Ideal - Weld Supervision or Cert. 10 qualification
- Proven ability to train and develop other staff
- Eye for detail and passion for quality, safety and training
- Valid QLD Drivers Licence
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
