Due to an increase in project works we are seeking a number of experienced Mud Technicians with large reclaimer experience FIFO 2/1 to provide support to our HDD project works
Our Mud Technicians are responsible for the operation of the drilling fluid mixing and recycling systems for our Dunstans Horizontal Direction Drilling (HDD) Projects with key responsibilities including the management of drilling fluid mixing system, testing rheology of drilling fluids and reports and operation of the drilling fluid recycling plant.The role will include:
- Mixing & batching of drilling fluids materials in accordance with the mud program.
- Test and record rheology of drilling fluid properties of drilling fluid at desired intervals.
- Make adjustments to the drilling fluid program where necessary to ensure the parameters are maintained in accordance with mud program.
- Monitor the mud recycling system and ensure volume is maintained to support activities.
- Monitor cutting removal during pilot phase to assess ground material.
- Record and provide details to the Driller on geology and update continuously on fluid properties.
- Coordinate and notify supervisor of materials, consumables, parts and spares required.
- Undertake daily pre-start checks of equipment and notify Supervisor of any breakdowns, repairs or maintenance required.
- Adhere to the Cape Dunstans Safety Standards at all times.
- Report incidents and observed hazards/near misses immediately to your supervisor.
- Follow required HSE procedures and address any identified HSE risks/incidents within work area.
- Ensure Take 5s and JHAs completed as required for the role
- Australian Construction Induction Card.
- Australian Driver's License
- Telehandlers and/or excavator tickets. (preferred)
- 3 yrs. experience in HDD Drilling Fluid management; and
- At least 3 years previous experience in the operation of an HDD Mud System
- Good working knowledge of mud testing procedures.
- Good working knowledge of maintenance and operation of mud system plant and equipment (motors, recycling system, pipework, hoses).
