My name is Niel Mason, as GM I am exceptionally proud of the FOH and brigade here at Hotel Verge. With my Head Chef looking to return to Uni he has offered the courtesy of me opening this role to another who can commit to continuing to develop this incredibly well received product proposition.
You would have appropriate Head Chef qualifications – Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery – and current Food safety Supervisor qualifications.
Also, you MUST live in Launceston, can work legally in Australia in a full time capacity, and have transport to work. Im not sponsoring any more currently. I can’t take on any more transient (8 week availability). Please don’t ask.
Key duties include:
- Come and have some fun at work; we keep it professional but treat our guests as we would if they were invited into our own home.
- Cooking and preparing food
- Developing a menu
- Estimating the costs of each meal
- Purchasing ingredients
- Hiring and training staff
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures
- Maintaining hygiene standards
- Designing an efficient kitchen workflow
- Supervising other cooks and kitchen staff
- Using and maintaining kitchen equipment
