Our bustling hotel bistro is looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen staff, someone who is forward-thinking, friendly, and passionate about food.
You will be leading and working alongside a friendly team with a family feel.
As our Head Chef, you will be able to adapt to the needs of our customers and our business, be responsible for assigning work in the kitchen, preparing meals for our diners, interviewing and training staff, kitchen inventory management and menu creation.
This is a full-time role, working 38hrs with a variety of shifts including split shifts and weekends – however, this position is flexible, and can be rostered to suit the applicant’s desired work/life balance.

Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
- Maintain the schedule for kitchen staff
- Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
- Monitor food and labour costs and follow the budget established by management
- Keep up with industry trends and create new recipes in collaboration with management

Requirements
- Experience as a chef in a full-service restaurant
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dedicated to food quality and control
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards
