We are seeking an experienced Head Chef for our large scale kitchen:
- Regular day-time hours, with flexible start and finish times
- Managing a kitchen team of 10 people, two store-men, and 5 cleaners, team will likely grow/change under your guidance this year
- Creativity with menu ideas is very welcome
- Our kitchen staff are of diverse ethnic background, ability to up-skill staff and communicate well are essential
- Highly regarded if you are comfortable with a variety of cuisines: kitchen team currently prepares cuisines ranging from Continental European, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Indian
Along with usual Head Chef responsibilities:
- Writing daily menus - creativity and ideas very welcome
- Rostering and staff management
- Ordering and storeroom management
- Ensuring health and safety compliance (council audits etc)
About the business:
- You will be reporting directly to managing directors who are young, love food, enjoy creative ideas and open-minded to your input
- We are the sole operator inside a major hospital, serving the hospital staff NOT PATIENT MEALS
- Serving thousands of people per day
- Most of the food served is bain-marie style, not a-la-carte
- We have a dedicated HR team to assist team management
