Programmed Facility Management are seeking an experienced relief Head Chef to join our Minesite Village Management Team. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of an essential team that provides soft services such as Village Management, Catering, Transport, Cleaning and Utility services to a well-known Mining Company situated in the west of North Queensland.

This position is responsible for relieving the Head Chef and maintaining high standard of daily food and menu preparation, cooking and service for the Residents of the Village.
Duties include:
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety practices, in line with HACCP guidelines, procedures and documentation
- Production of high-quality, nutritious, and well-presented meals
- Continuous menu design and implementation
- Responsible for effectively managing kitchen operations/logistics including stock control
- Responsible for preparing budget and managing food costs
- Provide leadership, coordinate and support staff in within the Kitchen, maintaining a customer-focused work environment
- Assist Head Chef and Village Managers, if required
To join our team, you will be a qualified and experienced Head Chef with demonstrated experience and innovation in mass catering environments. You will possess strong knowledge of Hygiene and Food Safety Standards, with cultural dietary requirements being an advantage. Additionally, a commitment to the safety of yourself and others, and a passion to provide quality product, and service with a smile, at all times.
You will possess:
- Certificate III or IV Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
- Previous experience as a Head Chef in a mass catering environment, Minesite Village experience (desirable)
- Ability to pass comprehensive (Client) Pre-Employment Medical including Instant Drug and Alcohol Screening
- VALID C Class License
- Australian Working Rights
- Current satisfactory National Police Check (within 6 months)
- Advanced Systems and Technology experience i.e., MS Office, online/web-based Payroll & Training requirements
- Demonstrate a professional approach in the workplace, with excellent customer service skills
- Have a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others
- Ability to manage a Team; providing hands on coaching and support where required
- Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing work tasks in a fast-paced environment
