Head Chef/ Sous Chef - Exciting Café Opportunity – Mon - Sat Approx. $65-$80k (neg.) + Super
Join our dynamic team as the Head Chef of a recently established vibrant café, owned by well – known and respected industry operators. Lead a small kitchen team of approx. 4 full time/casual staff, crafting contemporary café fare with innovative specials. Take charge of menu development, catering and kitchen operations while enjoying autonomy in your role.
About Us:

- Small kitchen team of approximately 4 full-time and casual staff
- Open Mon-Sat, 7am-3pm, exploring expansion into Sundays, catering and private functions
- We focus on handcrafted/house made menu items and condiments such as fermenting, pickling, smoking and curing

Role Highlights:
- 5 Day Roster including a weekend service
- Hands-on role (90% kitchen, 10% admin)
- Menu development, specials, and catering engineering
- Full autonomy over kitchen and catering operations
- Maintain COGs and KPIs
- Manage a small kitchen team
- Work in a vibrant Eastern Suburbs Café with experienced hospitality operators
- Parking available on weekends
Requirements:
- Qualified Chef with busy café background
- Minimum 10 years industry experience
- Stable work history (2-3 year stays preferred)
- Expertise in modern café menu development and financial acumen
- Baking experience is preferred but not essential
Working Hours:
- Must be available weekends
- 40-44 hours per week
